Welcome to Lincoln Park

If you are looking for a city where you can find the balance of city opulence, greenery, and culture, Lincoln Park is an ideal destination. The city is filled with green parks and tree-lined streets that are one of the biggest reasons why many families like to settle in this neighborhood of Chicago. With museums, theater, ethnic restaurants, farmer’s market, blue clubs and taverns, the 1,208-acres Lincoln Park offers an ample amount of entertainment for the residents to call this city the perfect home.

Origin of the City

Lincoln Park was a natural park, known since the 1820s. Later on, after the Great Chicago Fire, the German and Polish neighborhood wasn’t completely destroyed and the area got included in Chicago. Many Chicagoan families from other areas later on settled in this place, making it populated.

Demographic

Lincoln Park used to be the home of the Puerto Rican community in the 1820s. From the 1950s to 1970s, Lincoln Park had become populated with students from DePaul University. Now, this is a place not only for students but also for business people, individuals, and families.

Popular Landmarks

The extensive area of 1,208 acres of Lincoln Park is known for the green patch that has become the house of diverse activities, especially for families. Lincoln Park Zoo, Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond, Lincoln Park Conservatory, Theatre on a Lake, and Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum are some other places that attract many tourists as well as residents.
